Beautiful Kauai
Reviewed on 2024-09-13 by Stacey J. , Napa, CA United StatesAlways love this property and we return every year (not always this unit). This unit has so many amazing amenities and there is a lot of thought in all of them. Nothing is missing. We only had an issue upon check in as the unit was not clean when we got there at check in time. We had to wait an hour and a half for them to finish. We were exhausted from travel and had food in the car. The cleaners were not able to really complete the clean as we finally just had to get in there by 5:30 and get settled. We had been up since 5am PST. I am sure getting staff is always an issue these days, but we have never had this issue when any other unit and we have been there for 5 visits now.
The View is Everything g
Reviewed on 2024-07-05 by Shannon M. , Costa Mesa, CA USThe view of course was the best part. It took our breath away! However, the rental didn't look like the pics as far as decoration. When we got there at 4 the cleaning crew was not done but they were sweet and let us in while they cleaned. That ins unacceptable when Checkin is already so late at 4. The unit was so hot it was unbearable and this was a dealbreaker for us. Our girls loved having their own beds but it was a sweat box up there. The part I really disliked was the bedding in the master room as it all smelled like mildew so I could not sleep in the there and that's where the air was. Besides the view the positives were having a washer/dryer to clean clothes, having a living room to relax and watch some TV and stumbling across the Hideaways restaurant that was awesome and just across from our condo. We went to 1 Resort to swim. The lack of air through the whole place and the mildew smell of bedding leaving me to sleep on the couch was very disappointing.
Two Weeks in Paradise
Reviewed on 2024-05-04 by , Richmond, TX United StatesThis condo is comfortable & clean, with beautiful views of the ocean and sunsets. Convenient to attractions in Kauai and many restaurants. We loved the coconut shrimp starter, especially at Happy Talk! Condo well equipped for cooking meals and Food Land grocery very close. This was our 2nd visit here and hope there will be more to come!

Reviewed on 2023-09-28 by Lori O. , Durham, CA United StatesLove staying at Pali Ke Kua with it’s ocean views and dramatic sunset display every night. We stay at this resort every year. Unit 220 was well maintained and had everything we needed. We love renting with Oceanfront Realty. Really easy to deal with and always sending information on fun activities to do while on the Island and keeping us updated with important information. We had a wonderful vacation as always.
Ocean and Mountain Views
Reviewed on 2023-05-12 by , Houston , TX United StatesBeautiful well appointed unit sits on a bluff overlooking the ocean with mountain views in the distance. There is a path down to a secluded beach. Open spacious grounds are a tropical garden. We enjoyed the lovely sunsets. Unit was fully equipped with everything we needed for our two week stay and was very clean upon arrival. Management company was responsive to any issue we had. Would not hesitate to rent this condo again should we be fortunate enough to return!

Stunning View!
Reviewed on 2022-09-29 by , Noblesville, IN USThis unit in Pali Ke Kua is a on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The condo is well-equipped with supplies so that we did not need to purchase paper products nor laundry soap. As noted in other reviews, it is in need of updating, especially carpet/flooring. Please note that the condo was extremely warm and humid. The air conditioning unit in the master bedroom was adequate for that space only. The rest of the condo during the day was very uncomfortable. The loft was not usable at all for that reason. Oceanfront Realty International, Inc. was responsive and very professional. As you plan your visit, please note that restaurants are not as plentiful as on the South Shore.

Beautiful view dated condo
Reviewed on 2022-07-27 by Carlos H. , Whittier, CA USEnjoyed my stay on this property. This unit requires updating and AC would be a plus. Biggest downside is no bbq on prem. They have 2 grills a mile away and super steep climb which makes them unusable. Unit offers some of the best views on the island. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils but 0 pantry items no salt oil or anything else so be prepared to stock up. I would stay in this property again just select a different unit.

Pali Ke Kua 220 is the perfect perch for a North Shore stay on beautiful Kauai -- especially if you want the ideal sunset view, looking out to Makana. We've traveled to Kauai more than 10 times and this was one of our favorite places. The bad thing about it is that the view and the sound of the ocean below and the birds all around can be seductive. You could easily be lured into just hanging out on the balcony and letting it all wash over you.

There's easy access to the beach below and the unit itself was quite comfortable, with everything we needed. Dirty windows spoiled the view
Reviewed on 2022-07-03 by , Seattle, WA United StatesOver the past 20 years we have rented this condo about 15 times and have very happy memories of it. We probably won't rent it again. The sliding glass door and kitchen windows that look out onto a spectacular view of the ocean were dirty. We even tried wiping them down to no avail. There was a big tear at the bottom of the balcony screen door. And the bedroom fan creaked so loudly that we didn't use it when we slept. But other than the windows the interior was clean. For that reason I'll give it five starts for cleanliness. With clean windows this place would be near perfect.

Facts: great view appreciated by everyone who fills the lawn outside, front window and lock had to be repaired during our stay, minimal cross ventilation so cooler outside than in (ac only in main bedroom), afternoon sun lights up/heats up interior, one of three fans worked adequately, stained carpet and sofa pillows, some towels stained/had hair on them.

Opinion: dated interior, needs better maintenance (prior to guest arrival), nice selection of surf/beach themed movies, enjoyed the birds including the one nesting on the porch

In summary: never again
Didn't want to leave!
Reviewed on 2022-06-03 by Bonnie G. , Valparaiso, IN USWe loved this condo!!! The ocean views are even better than the pictures - great sunsets every night, turtles swimming down below each morning, paved path down to Hideaways beach snorkeling (some of the best we had on the island). The furniture was comfy for relaxing after a day's adventures. We cooked several meals and found everything we needed in the kitchen, including salt/pepper and olive oil which was nice not to have to buy. The beach chairs and cooler were a much appreciated touch! Having a washer/dryer in the unit was so convenient. The pool was nice and the hot tub was actually hot! Pizza from the restaurant on site was good. It was hard to leave Pali Ke Kua. We hope to stay here again!

This unit needs updating and cleaning badly!
Reviewed on 2021-09-21 by Jane J. , Ridgefield, WA United StatesThis unit, 220, has been our go-to condo for approx 20 years. The mirror 'wall'was dirty and streaked. The window looking from the kitchen table toward the lanai is totally degraded and can't be seen through. The cream color cushions on the great room furniture are dirty and sad looking....not nearly as attractive as other units furniture. There is not ONE chaise lounge or comfortable chair to sit on while on the lanai. Just hard wood chairs without cushions! Totally unacceptable that clients have not one place to relax on the lanai...hard chairs w/o cushions certainly won't do it!The ceiling of the lanai is covered with ugly mold and is a detriment to eating on the lanai. It's dangerous and sickening. Over all the unit is in need of a total refurbishing. That includes the carpet and the handrail which is filthy. At this price point the unit should be a real joy, but it's degraded. The main attraction to 220 is the view, of course. On the unit itself: someone needs to step up. It's way past time to refurbish the unit. First thing is to eradicate the mold on the lanai ceiling. It's huge and spreading. I have photos if you would like them.

Best Location In Kauai
Reviewed on 2021-07-27 by Shane H. , Tell City, IN USOur stay at Pali Ke Kua unit 220 could not have been better. The place was perfectly located and might have the best ocean view in all of Kauai. The unit was clean and comfortable and was everything we had hoped for. The beach in front of the unit is private and great for snorkeling. We snorkeled with turtles and also saw many colorful tropical fish, eels, and even an octopus. The access to the beach is down a concrete path roughly 100 yards long and is very steep in spots. The path could be difficult for some people, but we had no trouble at all. We were able to see the entire island during our visit and would highly recommend making the 1 hour and 50 minute drive to Waimea Canyon. Our only negative experience during our stay was getting to Hanalei. A landslide near Hanalei caused a long stretch of road to be one lane only, which caused traffic to back up badly. The normal 5 minute drive could sometimes take an hour. However, this will be fixed soon and shouldn't be a problem for future visitors. I highly recommend this unit.

Reviewed on 2020-10-29 by , Los Angeles, CA USWe absolutely loved our stay at Pali Ke Kua. The surf roars in your ears, it's everything we wanted. Both sunrises & sunsets were spectacular and we watched every one!! The condo is sparkling clean and comes with plenty of towels, snorkeling gear & even fins. There is a paved path to Hideaways beach (one of our absolute favorites) and Queen's Bath is also within walking distance. The team at Oceanfront was very responsive to everything I asked - a few little things came up since the property had been shut down so long due to COVID but they were very helpful in getting them resolved. They also have an app that gives you a lot of cool ideas for things to do. Would stay here again tomorrow!!

Reviewed on 2020-03-23 by Stanley C. , AL United StatesWe’ve been to Kauai many times and stayed in some of the most exclusive resorts. None of them had the thrill of staying 10 yards from the ocean with a mesmerizing view of Hanalei bay. The condo was very nice with everything needed for a lovely stay. The only issues; no air-conditioning and we couldn’t get the TV to work. We were there in Jan. and with open windows we didn’t need the A/C.
